Carlson Clip: UW scientists reach big step in bringing nuclear fusion power to reality

A University of Washington research team may be on the verge of nuclear fusion reactor power plants that are on-par with the costs of a coal-fired power plant but with zero carbon-based emissions (for operation). KVI's John Carlson interviews UW doctoral student working on the project, Derek Sutherland, about what this advancement means for dependable, cost-efficient power in America and how it would drastically alter the on-going climate change debate because it would eliminate virtually all carbon-based fossil fuel pollution in the US over the next 30-40 years.
