Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton seized on the opportunity to once again paint her opponent as a unfit for the highest office in the country by targeting his ongoing feud with a former beauty queen.

Speaking in Florida Friday afternoon, Clinton called Donald Trump "unhinged" after the Republican posted a series of angry tweets -- at 3 o'clock in the morning.

"I mean really," Clinton began, "who gets up at 3 o'clock in the morning to engage in a Twitter attack, against a former Miss Universe?

"I mean, he hurled as many insults as he could," she continued. "Really, why does he do things like that? His latest Twitter meltdown is unhinged even for him."

Right around 3 a.m., Trump tweeted a series of messages focused at Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe winner who earlier this week lashed out at Trump for how he treated her during her time in the pageant circuit.

After political pundits picked up on Trump's late-night postings he later tweeted, "for those few people knocking me for tweeting at three o'clock in the morning, at least you know I will be there, awake, to answer the call!"
