For frustrated afternoon commuters around Puget Sound there's finally some relief for your drive--albeit on your radio dial--not on the pavement. KVI's Kirby Wilbur brings his show to the afternoon drive 3p-6p starting Monday June 4, 2018.
After taking Portland OR radio listeners by storm, Jamie Markley and David van Camp bring their dynamic talk radio talents to Seattle weekdays 9am-noon starting on June 4th following morning drive show host, John Carlson (6a-9a Pacific). Lars Larson anchors his Northwest show from Portland between noon-3pm.
"I can sleep in now. First time in my radio life!", says Wilbur about his switch to the afternoon drive time in Seattle.
"Peal Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden...Nirvana", says Jaime Markley about his experience in rock radio that he brings to talk radio. He likes to apply that musical energy to the news and pop culture for their show. Known to regulars as "The MVC ", they describe it as a humorous collection of hot takes on the day’s top trending stories.
"Our show is definitely conservative and we do make fun of a lot of liberal stuff. It was weird to us that the show did so well in Portland (radio ratings)", says Markley. "It was almost like a surprise but as you guys know as life-long Seattle people, you have the reputation of the town being very liberal but there are pockets of people with conservative values all over."
Markely, van Camp, Carlson and Wilbur talk about their mutual admiration for the TV show "Portlandia", too.
This recent news story does a nice job summing up MVC's sense of humor and nose for news. Don't miss this brand new KVI addition when it starts on June 4th.
