The organizer of Patriot Prayer USA, Joey Gibson, is shown bleeding slightly from his right temple after being hit with an empty aerosol can during a clash at the Evergreen State College campus in Olympia WA on June 15, 2017. Gibson's group organized a pro-free speech rally to support an Evergreen State professor who was recently criticized and antagonized for opposing a "Day of Absence" event by students, but counter-protesters clashed with Gibson and his group. The organizer of a pro-free speech and pro-academic freedom rally on the campus of Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA joins KVI's John Carlson to explain the confrontations and physical violence that ensued. Joey Gibson with Patriot Prayer USA organized the rally but was confronted by what he describes as Anti-Fa and Black Block counter-protesters who masked their identities by wearing bandannas, looking like, as Gibson says, "ninjas." Gibson, a Vancouver WA resident, explains how he had an aerosol can thrown at his head and that supporters from his group managed to subdue another man who was armed with a knife. That 25-year-old man was arrested by Washington State Patrol troopers who were on the scene in riot gear during the confrontations.
