Senate Republicans in the Olympia legislature want to create a uniform levy to fund public education and satisfy the 2012 Washington State Supreme Court ruling known as The McCleary decision, according to State Sen. Dino Rossi (R-Issaquah). Rossi spoke to KVI's Kirby Wilbur and John Carlson about the education funding plan that passed the State Senate 25-24 saying, "we need to have a uniform levy across the state". Rossi says the funding plan allocates money per student rather than per district which is a drawback he notes of the current funding system.
