Tacoma I-5 gridlock at Puyallup River Bridge nearly over

The joke around the KVI studios is that State Dept. of Transportation is trying to make Tacoma traffic as bad as Seattle's given the variety of construction projects along I-5 around the Tacoma Dome and the Puyallup River Bridge.

But State DOT officials say the final phases of construction are about to begin which should bring an end to the crippling traffic delays due to the realignment of the Puyallup River Bridge between Tacoma and Fife.
