The sanctity of King County labor unions and the fight to raise taxes for Metro bus service

John Carlson crunches the numbers on the latest tax increase proposal for Seattle to maintain Metro bus service that King County says is inevitable because voters rejected the $1.5 billion, 10-year tax hike plan known as "Prop. 1" on April 22nd, 2014. Carlson finds that if Metro bus riders paid $0.22 more per ride, they'd have enough money to cover the $80 per year car tab hike being proposed in Seattle. What's more: 520 bridge tolls have gone up at least twice since they began in Dec. 2011, meanwhile Metro bus fares haven't gone up at all dating back to September of 2011. Seattle politicians are asking car drivers to pay more, what's so sacrilegious about asking bus riders to pay more?
