GUEST: St. Sen. Marko Liias (D-Mukilteo) joins the podcast to tout his bill that would drop the WA car tab taxes to the Kelly Blue Book value of a vehicle, (double check Kelly spelling), Liias notes the voter sentiment in the I-976 vote back in November but also sees the previous votes supporting light rail, Liias calls the existing car tab tax formulation "unfair", Liias isn't interested in undercutting light rail but wants to address the real problem of car tab taxes, why Liias thinks his SB 6606 is a balance between the political left and political right, Liias is asked about a Republican Senator's bill that would allow Pierce County to opt out of Sound Transit construction (and the associated taxes that go with phase three).
