Advocates for the property tax increase involved in SB 5770 say the money could be used by counties to add more police and fire, however these same advocates for the property tax increase, specifically the Senate Democrats–where this bill is originating–were also supporters of Gov. Inslee’s COVID vaccine mandate in 2020-2021 that forced many first responders–including State Patrol Troopers–out of their jobs.
