Hurricane Milton intense but not as large as other Cat 4 storms

Hurricane Milton, Florida, storm, Ron DeSantis

The only silver lining to potent Hurricane Milton is that the Category 4 storm is smaller in size and scope than previous Category 4 ‘canes, says University of Washington Atmospheric Sciences professor, Cliff Mass.

Mass tells KVI’s John Carlson that the biggest threat to the Tampa Bay area of the Florida gulf coast will be storm surge of 10-15 feet (south of the low pressure center).  Mass adds that projected wind gusts on the Florida shore will be 170 m.p.h. when Milton reaches the Tampa Bay coastline.
