A clarion call for free speech amid social media platforms in 2025

KVI, KVI station logo

New year but the same hotly contested debates about what constitutes free speech and how its handled in America’s political climate.

A First Amendment fan and retired U.S. Marine on “X” has posted a silver-tongued soliloquy about the free speech atmosphere at social media site, Blusky, compared to that of X.

You can read it below, but be warned, it’s got some salty language and is not for fragile snowflakes. The crux of the message is in support of free-speech–especially free speech you disagree with. (Click the embedded image of the post below to expand the message and read the entire thing)

The final line of the post says: Elon spent a king’s ransom to save free speech and bring joie de vivre back to the digital public square. Let’s not squander that—it’s something far more precious than we may realize until it’s gone.

After discussing this creatively crafted comparison of X and Blusky on KVI’s “The John Carlson Show”, we wanted to post this for KVI listeners to read in its entirety, because there are some parts that simply weren’t fit for FCC broadcast but deserve to be shared.

The John Carlson Show is heard weekday mornings from 6-9 on Talk Radio 570 KVI and 101.5 FM HD3.
