Two new exit polls show there are more Republicans in the U.S. now than Democrats and KVI morning show host John Carlson says it shows voters are “taking a walk” on Democratic Party.

To hear Carlson’s analysis of this political shift, click the play button below.

Carlson concludes, “More and more Americans of all races are considering themselves Republicans. This is something that hasn’t happened since the advent of modern day polling…all the way back to Franklin Roosevelt and even before. The latest exit polls indicate that Republicans outnumber Democrats by 5 (percentage) points, according to the Associated Press Vote Cast Survey.”

“This is completely unheard of, historically,” adds Carlson, “It’s never happened before.”

When Ronald Reagan was winning, Democrats held a huge advantage in party ID. In the ’60s and ’70s, it was often 2-to-1 (Democratic).

KVI’s John Carlson can be heard weekday mornings from 6-9 on Talk Radio 570 KVI and 101.5 FM HD3
