Carlson conclusion: budget deception in 2025 WA Legislature

KVI Capitol Olympia

Be warned about the projected $10 billion (or larger) Washington budget deficit, says KVI morning show host, John Carlson.

Carlson alerts KVI listeners, saying, “A deficit in Olympia means that the amount of money that we (majority Democrats) want to spend–the increases in government spending that we want to add to our existing budget–will not be covered by the anticipated revenues coming in. So, there is no deficit for covering existing expenses. But if you look at the increase that (Gov.) Jay Inslee left behind and you look at the anticipated revenues coming in, there will not be adequate money to pay for his (Inslee’s) budget (i.e spending) increases. That’s what they’re calling a deficit. That’s why they say ‘we need to raise taxes (in the Legislature)’.”

There’s also a new governor in the equation as Bob Ferguson takes office and Inslee leaves after three terms.

The John Carlson Show is heard weekday mornings from 6-9 on Talk Radio 570 KVI and 101.5 FM HD3.
