A Garfield High School student is dead and a suspected killer remains at large after gun fire shattered the school lunch hour yesterday in Seattle’s Central District neighborhood. Both the murdered 17-year-old student and the shooter who fled have not been identified so far.

The mother who performed CPR proceeded to tell Fox 13 Seattle that Seattle Public Schools should bring back school resource officers to boost safety at the high school and deter future shootings on campus.
Seattle Police say the dead student was attempting to play peace-maker between the suspected shooter and another student who were in a confrontation when the gun shots fired.
