In the 2024 Presidential election victory by Donald Trump, the nation shifted back in a conservative direction but Washington voters pushed the Evergreen State to an even more Progressive political level.
According to election integrity author and National Review columnist, John Fund, Washington is now the 5th most liberal state in the country, trailing only Vermont, Massachusetts, Maryland and Hawaii.
New York, Illinois, even California are more conservative than Washington, according to Fund.

“Kamala Harris,” says Fund, “has a 17-point lead in California right now (the morning after election day)…Kamala’s lead in Washington Statate is 20-points.”
“Washington State really has some soul searching to do,” Fund concludes. “Are they literally going to become a liberal bastion off in the corner of the country? And gradually what’s happened to other states that follow wacky policies, will that also eventually happen to Washington State and it loses its competitive edge? That’s a real question Washington State has to ask.”
