48 Democrats joined House Republicans to pass the Laken Riley Act, yesterday, 264-159, which will reduce the thresholds for identifying illegal aliens arrested for committing crimes in the U.S. Laken Riley was murdered in Athens, Georgia in February 2024 and the suspect now charged in her attack and murder is an illegal alien from Venezuela, Jose Ibarra.
Riley murder became a lightning rod story in 2024 in the debate about how America should handle criminal illegal aliens.
KVI morning show host, John Carlson, examines the 159 House Democrats–including six from Washington–that voted ‘no’ on the bill to hold undocumented illegal aliens accountable for their actions and facilitate deportations.

Two Democrats in Washington, U.S. Rep. Kim Schrier (WA-8) and Rep. Marie Glusenkamp-Perez (WA-3) both voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act, but Carlson points out that other Democratic U.S. Reps. Pramila Jayapal (WA-7), Adam Smith (WA-9), Suzan DelBene (WA-1), Rick Larson (WA-2), Maryland Strickland (WA-10) and Emily Randall (WA-6) all voted against the stronger protections for public safety.
Carlson noted that even Democratic U.S. Senator, John Fetterman (D-PA) is criticizing the House Democrats who voted against the Laken Riley Act (click the play button on the embedded post below to see Fetterman’s clip).
John Fetterman SLAMS fellow Democrats for voting against the Laken Riley Act:
"If we can't come up with at least 7 votes that's a reason we lost…If you're here illegally & you're committing crimes, I don't know why anybody thinks that it's controversial that they all need to… pic.twitter.com/wMq6f0w3A2

Carlson concludes, “Talk about not getting it. We got a long ways (sic) to go…for the Democrats to show that they were listening to what the American people were telling them in November (2024). If they’re gonna be slow learners, that’s fine. I don’t mind winning another few elections because they’re too dense to see the proverbial handwriting on the wall.”
The John Carlson Show is heard weekday mornings from 6-9 on Talk Radio 570 KVI and 101.5 FM HD3.
