Construction workers gather after chanting "No head tax!" at Seattle City Councilwoman, Kshama Sawant, who is demanding the city pass an employee head tax on all companies grossing more than $20 million in a city. By city estimates the tax would cost the biggest 3% of companies in Seattle about $530 per year per employee generating $75 million for Seattle which would be spent on subsidized housing and homeless support services. Construction workers confronted and shouted down Seattle City Council woman, Kshama Sawant, as she was speaking on a public address system in front of the Amazon Spheres pushing for her plan to enact an employee head tax on major employers like Amazon. See Twitter video below from KOMO News.

The construction workers voiced their displeasure to Sawant's face one day after Amazon announced a halt to construction on a downtown building that will house Amazon offices with the halt being ordered until the city approves or rejects the estimated $75 million tax plan which would go to pay for subsidized housing and other homeless services.
